They believe strongly in providing a positive learning environment and high expectations. They believe in a holistic education for students, using both academic and experience-based learning. Their goal is to give their students a wide range of academic and personal skills to help them transition into adulthood.

Cranbourne Secondary College’s philosophy is to allow young people to grow and expand their choices and take on more responsibility. It is done in accordance with the College Expectations that students behave in a respectful, responsible and safe manner.

The Year 7 enrolment program provides strong pastoral care for students. It operates from Years 7-10. They are proud to offer excellent options for further education and/or employment.

Cranbourne Secondary College was founded in the middle of the 1970s to serve Cranbourne’s growing population.

It was founded in 1975 with one year 7 level. It was originally known as Cranbourne High School. In 2016, it celebrated its 40th anniversary. Students came from far away, as there were not many homes around the area. Original uniform was a maroon jumper with grey pants. “While We live, we grow” became the school’s motto. It was an expression of both the personal and collective growth of students. Cranbourne Secondary College has over 1300 students, a 40-year-old institution. The projected growth in student numbers is 15% over the next five years. This is due to the increasing number of students who speak English as an additional language.

With 2 stages of a 3-stage master plan for building construction completed, the physical environment has seen significant changes in school history. The Visual Arts Centre was opened in 2018 as Stage 3. Stage 3 will see the opening of the Visual Arts Centre in 2018. Survey results from the College’s Student Attitudes towards School show that students are engaged and feel well. They also score significantly higher than the state in almost all areas.

Students’ wellbeing is greatly enhanced by a strong co-curricular program, pastoral care at years 7-10 and a large Wellbeing department. Anita Templin created the MultiPride program in 2004 to help students promote harmony and wellbeing at the College.

The college has a strong VCAL program and VCE. It has also developed connections and pathways with many partners including Monash University, Deakin University, and the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN). Many of its students have been awarded scholarships and mentorships from industry leaders.

Cranbourne Secondary College shares a Theatre with the City of Casey. This theatre provides an exciting platform to perform arts both from Cranbourne and the surrounding community.
